PROGRAM
inklingroom at The Baths
inklingroom presents a night of immersive contemporary dance and leftfield club music in Hackney Wick’s hidden gem - The Baths. We are thrilled to showcase the eleven unique contemporary dance performances by emerging, London based choreographers created during a twenty-week Creative Dance and Performance Making workshop by inklingroom.
This project is Funded by Foundation For Future London by Westfield Bank and aims to showcase the works of underrepresented, emerging dance artists from the East London area, and provide them with performance opportunities.

IN MY BONES
In My Bones explores the process of reconnecting to our ancestral roots through song, movement and cooking. Inspired by the way sound vibrations facilitate bone growth, the group explores listening to sound vibrations in their bone tissues, and allowing the activation of their senses to reconnect them to their lineage.

LAST NIGHT A TRASH BIN SAVED MY LIFE

The piece explores the intersections between queerness and trashiness as aesthetics that emerge from the margins. By deriving movement from objects and the idea of waste, we are going to indulge in the queer art of failure. Failing to comply with what is expected of us, breaking chains, like literal trash we find liberation in shedding meaning, disintegrating and mutating into every imaginable colour and form that exists out there. Get ready for some TWISTER baby!
Performed by Saskia Faye Larcombe, Anouk Jouanne, Hannah Grace, Ghazal Seidi and angel dust

THE STOLEN_____

The body is always being ravaged and bewitched by power discourses of various groups/individuals, history/present, positive/negative, sexuality/gender, etc. This is an experiment in which the "body" is used to resecure the "body", a subjective returning movement around the "body".
Performed by Hannah Grace, Laurie Case and Minghao Li
