inklingroom is proud to announce an Open Call for dance artists, DJs and musicians as a part of the Baltic Dance Platform 2022 host program by Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava. inklingroom’s first international showcase will take place at Hall in Tallinn on the 18th of May 2022.
We are currently looking for five Estonian based dance artists to present a 10-15 min performance and five DJs or musicians to perform a 45min - 1hour set during our event. In collaboration with Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava we are offering a paid opportunity, technical support and if possible, the use of a rehearsal space.

Our Mission: inklingroom champions new contemporary dance and music and supports artists in creating boundary-pushing, innovative work. Our events series, radio residencies, and record label aims to give the platform to underrepresented artists in the industry to create immersive and expansive experiences. Therefore would like to prioritise artists representing gender and sexual minorities, as well as those of low income.
Submission Details:
DJ’S/MUSICIANS:
30min Mix + bio + a short description of your practice
Artist fee: 120€ per project (gross)
DANCE ARTISTS:
10-15 min link to performance footage (could be rehearsal footage as well as professional one) with a short description of the idea + bio
Artist fee: 300€ per project (gross)
Concept:
We would like submitted mixes and performance intentions to be inspired by the idea of embodiment: it means that your work might explore how to be embodied, real and tangible. Through your creation, you may invite the audience on a journey of discovering and using their different senses. Exploring the idea that your work has its own agenda to have an embodied way of being in the world.

Selection Criteria:
Project responses will be reviewed based on the proposals. Only those projects meeting the open call criteria will be reviewed.
